Shihezi University Introduction
Shihezi University is located in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, PR China. It was ranked among the key constructed university under the “211 project” in Dec 31, 2008.
Shihezi University has 20 colleges offering ninety-four undergraduate specialties, eight doctoral programs, twenty-six master degree programs, and 20 different postgraduate plans, four post-doctoral mobile programs, and two post-doctoral research plans in Agriculture, Medicine, Engineering, Economics and Trade, Management, Literature and Arts, Sciences, Education, Law, and History. At present, there is a national first-class construction discipline, one national key discipline, one national key cultivation discipline, and ten key disciplines of the autonomous region. Currently, it has 2,581 full-time teachers, 314 professors, 652 associate professors. The total number of students is 42,131, including 22,532 undergraduates and 5,575 postgraduates.

Three national teaching teams, two nationally-teachers, four nationally-excellent courses, one bilingual teaching demonstration course, three excellent open video courses, two excellent resource sharing courses, five national specialty construction projects, and one Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center. The university got excellent (medicine, engineering, agriculture and forestry) education and training programs of the Ministry of education. There are six pilot outstanding talents training programs. The University also has a national quality cultural education base for college students and an off campus practical education base.
The University is equipped with the most up-to-date teaching and scientific research facilities. It covers an area of 1.794 million square meters, with a teaching building area of 1.261 million square meters, and laboratory and practical buildings of 26.97 million square meters. The green coverage is 41%. It has a number of buildings including libraries, gymnasium, swimming pools, tracks, field halls, standard stadium, hall, comprehensive teaching buildings, and Museum, along with 4 attached hospitals. In 2020, the school was awarded the "National Civilized Campus".
There is a Confucius Institute established in Kazakhstan. It has carried out multi-level and wide-ranging exchange and cooperation with 70 different universities and scientific research institutions in the United States, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, New Zealand, Canada, Australia, Austria, Japan and South Korea. More than 1350 students from 32 different countries study at this university.
