Jiangxi Modern Polytechnic College, approved by the Jiangxi Provincial Government and the Chinese Ministry of Education accepts students for advanced education, as well as vocational and technical courses. It is essentially a state-run college for higher education. The college grew out of Jiangxi Vocational School of Building Material, which was founded in 1978. In April 2002, it was upgraded to an ordinary institution of higher learning and renamed "Jiangxi Modern Polytechnic College". In 2017, China Science Evaluation Research Center released the 2017-2018 Ranking List of Competitiveness of Higher Vocational Colleges in China, our college ranking 46th in China and No. 1 in Jiangxi province.
The college is located in NanChang, the capital of JiangXi province. There are two campuses; AiXi Lake Campus and QingShan Lake Campus. It covers an area of 400,000 square meters (600 mu), with a construction area of 356,000 square meters. In addition, it provides a beautiful environment and complete facilities, with a total value of 760 million yuan in fixed assets, including 164 million yuan for teaching equipment. The library has a collection of 1.19 million books on paper and 1.1 million e-books. Experimental teaching equipment has been improved, and the construction of smart campus has been intensified. All the student apartments are equipped with air conditioning, hot water and direct drinking water.
The school has more than 15,000 students and staff, which supplies a full range of services for both students and staff members. The college currently offers more than 50 majors, encompassing seven colleges which consist of the College of Architecture, College of Information Engineering, College of Mechanical, College of Arts Design, College of Business and the College of Tourism and Aviation.
