Established in 1958 and promoted to an undergraduate university in 2000, HYIT is a multi-disciplinary engineering institute under Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. It is located in Huai’an, a renowned national historical and cultural city in Jiangsu Province. It’s also the birthplace of Zhou Enlai, the first premier of the People’s Republic of China. There are more than 21,000 registered full-time students, including more than 500 post-graduate students. HYIT has more than 1,300 faculty members, including more than 280 postgraduate supervisors, more than 10 national-level talents like “Yangtze Scholars”, and more than 100 double-employed advanced talents, such as “Distinguished Young Scholars”. There are altogether 19 teaching and research units, and 67 undergraduate majors.
HYIT actively promotes the academic internationalization and has established friendly and cooperative relations with more than 50 universities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Taiwan China. It cooperated with Finland’s JAMK University of Applied Science to carry out undergraduate education in Logistics Engineering, established the Sino-European Canal Cultural Research Center with L'Università del Salento, Italy, and carried out joint doctoral programs with universities such as Lorraine University, France, Nagasaki Institute of Applied Science, Japan and Shinawatra University of Thailand. In 2016, the School of International Education was established to carry out academic education for international students in China. Currently, there are nearly 200 international students from more than 30 countries.
In accordance with the educational development needs of international education, HYIT continues to offer the master program. International students who are qualified in their undergraduate study in China can apply to enter HYIT for further study.
淮阴工学院为江苏省属普通本科院校，坐落于周恩来总理故乡、全国历史文化名城——江苏省淮安市，始建于1958年，2000年升格为本科高校。现有全日制在校生2.1万余人，其中硕士研究生500余人。专任教师1300余人，其中硕士生导师280余人，引聘长江学者等国家级人才10人，双聘国家杰青等高端人才百余人。设有19个教学科研单位，67个本科专业。
学校坚持开放办学，先后与美、加、英、法、意等国家及台湾地区等50余所高校建立了友好合作关系，与芬兰于韦斯屈莱应用科技大学合作开展物流工程本科教育，与意大利萨兰托大学共建成立中欧运河文化交流中心，与法国洛林大学、日本长崎综合科学大学、泰国西那瓦大学等高校开展联合培养博士研究生项目等。于2016年设立国际教育学院，开展来华留学生学历教育，现有来自30多个国家的留学生近200人。
根据来华留学生教育发展需要，我校继续开展来华留学生研究生教育，在本科阶段学习合格后的留学生可申请进入淮阴工学院进行研究生阶段学习。
