As one of the most ever-lasting vocational university in Jiangsu Province, Suzhou Vocational University was established in May 1981 based on Suzhou Industrial Junior College founded in 1911. Inheriting itself over one hundred years, our university has been cultivating talents and elites through years, including 7 academicians as alumnus.
Abiding by “Diligence, Bravery, Credibility, Loyalty” as the school motto, our university has been serving local economic and social development by providing highly qualified technical and skilled-oriented talents. The university consists of 12 schools (divisions), 1029 staff members (including 66 with top academic titles) and 13542 full-time students.
Attaching great importance to international cooperation and communication as well as meeting demands from local development and requirement of talents, the university has been effectively cooperating with overseas colleges and universities such as George Brown College in Canada, Unitec Institute of Technology in New Zealand, Melbourne Polytechnic and Chisholm Institute in Australia, Bendigo Kangan Institute in Australia, University of Bolton in England, Fachhochschule Nordhessen in German, Shelton Commercial College in Singapore and kinjo Gakuin University in Japan on emerging programs, joint curriculums, languages training, etc. There are altogether 10 foreign experts and teachers working here, one having State Friendship Award and other 3 having provincial and municipal rewards.
We have officially been enrolling overseas students and opened Wu Culture courses with local features. We do welcome students from all over the world to our university to take relevant courses, experience Wu Culture and enjoy Soochow-style life.
