学校简介
内蒙古工业大学坐落在内蒙古自治区呼和浩特市,前身是始建于1951年的绥远省高级工业学校。1958年在清华大学等支援下成立内蒙古工学院,曾隶属机械工业部、农业机械部,1983年划归内蒙古自治区,1993年更名为内蒙古工业大学。
学校目前在新城校区、金川校区、准格尔校区办学,占地面积3228亩,建筑面积63.23万平方米,教学科研仪器设备总值6.54亿元。经过70年的发展,学校已建设成为一所以工为主,工、理、文、经、管、法、艺术相结合,具有博士、硕士、本科完整人才培养体系的特色鲜明的多科性大学。现设有21个教学单位,拥有52个研究院(所、中心);有博士学位授权一级学科3个,博士学位授权二级学科(不含一级学科覆盖点)1个;硕士学位授权一级学科20个,硕士学位二级学科(不含一级学科覆盖点)9个,14个硕士专业学位授权类别;现设有本科专业75个,具有推荐优秀本科生免试攻读硕士研究生资格;有自治区级“双一流”资助学科2个。学校现有本专科学生23000余人,博士、硕士研究生4900余人。
学校现有教职工2051人,专任教师1428人,其中教授195人,副教授478人,博士生导师70人,硕士生导师585人。专任教师中有89%获得博士、硕士学位。
学校现有7个国家级一流专业建设点、5个教育部特色专业建设点,4个教育部卓越工程师培养计划试点专业,1个国家级校外大学生工程实践基地,1个国家级实验教学示范中心,1个国家级专业综合改革试点专业,5个自治区级一流专业建设点、1个自治区级专业综合改革试点专业,4个自治区级重点建设专业,25个自治区级品牌专业,8个自治区级实验教学示范中心,20个自治区级教学团队,19名自治区教学名师,12名自治区教坛新秀。
学校坚持开放办学理念,积极开展对外交流与合作。与清华大学、天津大学等多所国内著名院校以及蒙古国、俄罗斯、美国、德国、法国、日本、加拿大等22个国家(地区)的高校及科研院所建立并开展实质性合作与交流。2005年、2008年先后成为“内蒙古自治区政府奖学金项目”和国家留学基金委“中国政府奖学金项目”招生单位,2018年、2019年先后获批教育部“丝绸之路奖学金项目”和“世界知名大学学分生专项奖学金项目”。来华留学生主要来自蒙古国、俄罗斯、塔吉克斯坦、柬埔寨、老挝、多哥、巴基斯坦、也门、尼日利亚、津巴布韦、孟加拉国、乌兹别克斯坦、苏丹等15个国家。学校现有各类来华留学生200余人。
70年来,学校培养了17万余名优秀人才,他们奋斗在大江南北、工作在各行各业,许多已成为大中型企业的领军人物和技术骨干、高校或科研院所的专家学者、党和政府的重要领导干部。站在新的历史起点上,学校将秉承“博学躬行,尚志明德”的校训,弘扬“唯实尚行”的校风,坚持创新、特色、内涵、区域、开放的发展理念,努力建设国内知名、民族地区一流的教学研究型大学。
Located in Hohhot, the capital city of Inner Mongolia, Inner Mongolia University of Technology (IMUT) grew out of Suiyuan Higher Technical School, which was established in 1951. In 1958, with the support of Tsinghua University, Suiyuan Higher Technical School was upgraded and renamed as Inner Mongolia Engineering College, which was first under the direct administration of the Ministry of Mechanical Industry and later under the direct administration of the Ministry of Agricultural Machinery. In 1983, the administration of the College was transferred to Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Government. In 1993, the College was upgraded once again and renamed Inner Mongolia University of Technology (IMUT).
Centering around the traditional engineering disciplines, Inner Mongolia University of Technology has now grown into a multidisciplinary university with distinct features of its own 70 years of development, offering undergraduate bachelor’s, postgraduate master’s and PhD programs in as diverse branches of learning as technology, sciences, social sciences and humanities, economics, management, law, education and art. At present, there are 21 colleges (divisions or centers) and 52 research institutes in the University. The university offers the following programs: 1 post-doctoral station, 3 first-level discipline PhD programs, 1 second-level discipline PhD programs ( excluding the first-level discipline programs ), 20 first-level discipline master programs, 9 second-level discipline master programs (excluding the first-level discipline programs ) and 14 specialized master programs of engineering. The University is also capable of conferring such professional master’s degrees as MBA and MEM. Altogether, 75 bachelor programs are offered at the University. Due to its high quality of teaching, the University is qualified to select and send its top undergraduate graduates to do their master’s studies at other universities and colleges without them taking the entrance exam. At present, over 23,000 bachelors and associate degree undergraduate students, over 4,900 postgraduate master students and PhD students are enrolled as fulltime students at the University. The University employs a faculty and staff of 2,051, including 1,428 faculty members. Among all the faculties, there are 195 professors, 478 associate professors, 70 PhD student tutors and more than 585 masters’ student tutors. The University adheres to the concept of open education, having been active in international cooperation and exchanges. Regular cooperative relations have been established with over 56 universities from 22 countries. At present, there are more than 200 international students from 15 countries.
In 70 years since its establishment, more than 170,000 students have graduated from this University. Standing at this new starting point of history, through continuing with the education reform, Inner Mongolia University of Technology will strive to improve the teaching quality and service to society, making greater contributions to the social and economical developments of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and China through active participations. Inner Mongolia University of Technology will work hard and be innovative so as to build the University into a high quality one with distinct features in both teaching and research.
