The University of Science and Technology Liaoning (USTL) was founded in 1948. It was one of China's earliest metallurgical universities. 
University of Science and Technology Liaoning is a multidisciplinary university with a main focus on engineering and cooperatively development of science, economics, management, literature, law, art and other disciplines.
In the past 60 years, USTL has gradually formed its own teaching characteristics of "rooting in metallurgy, cooperating with enterprise, focusing on practice, aiming at cultivating integrated high quality professionals". The university has cultivated a large number of talents. Many of them have become technology talents, technology leaders and backbone of management in enterprise and public institution.
Our graduates have taken important positions, such as chairman, general manager, in Ansteel, Hebeisteel, Bosteel, Baosteel, Bensteel, Lingsteel, Baosteel, Tongsteel and many other large steel enterprises.
The school is located in the city of Anshan. It covers an area of 1.8 million square meters.
USTL owns 19 schools, an education department and an engineering training center. The university offers 59 undergraduate majors and has right of degree-conferring in bachelor, master and PHD degree.
The university has 3 first-level discipline doctoral degree program, 13 second level discipline doctoral degree programs, 12 first-level discipline bachelor degree programs, 40 master degree programs, 8 master of professional degree programs.  The university has right of degree-conferring of MBA degree, on-the-job master degree, master of engineering and right of exam-free recommendation.
There is a rigorous teaching team in USTL. Among the 1107 professional teachers, 167 of them have obtained professorship, and 328 have obtained associate professorship.
There are 20761 full time students in USTL at present.
