Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang

Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang (First Emperor of Qin Dynasty) was built between 246 BC to 208 BC. It is the first large-scale and well-preserved imperial mausoleum in China with well-structured layout.

Dayan Pagoda

Dayan Pagoda (Giant Wild Goose Pagoda) is a seven-story square pagoda, which was built in 625. It is made of bricks for Monk Xuanzang to preserve Buddhist scriptures during the Tang Dynasty. Now it has become a famous historical attraction and landmark in Xi’an.

Xi’an Drum Tower

Xi’an Drum Tower is the largest existing drum tower in China. It was built in 1380, the 13th year of Hongwu era during the reign of Emperor Taizu of Ming Dynasty. It had been renovated twice in 1699, the 38th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi, and in 1740, the 5th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong during the Qing Dynasty. There used to be a huge drum upstairs and the drum beats were used to tell the time, which is the reason why the building was called Drum Tower.
