Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang

Mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang (First Emperor of Qin Dynasty) was built between 246 BC to 208 BC. It is the first large-scale and well-preserved imperial mausoleum in China with well-structured layout.

Dayan Pagoda (Giant Wild Goose Pagoda) is a seven-story square pagoda, which was built in 625. It is made of bricks for Monk Xuanzang to preserve Buddhist scriptures during the Tang Dynasty. Now it has become a famous historical attraction and landmark in Xi’an.

Xi’an Drum Tower

Xi’an Drum Tower is the largest existing drum tower in China. It was built in 1380, the 13th year of Hongwu era during the reign of Emperor Taizu of Ming Dynasty. It had been renovated twice in 1699, the 38th year of the reign of Emperor Kangxi, and in 1740, the 5th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong during the Qing Dynasty. There used to be a huge drum upstairs and the drum beats were used to tell the time, which is the reason why the building was called Drum Tower.

Mawei Post

Mawei Post is an ancient post station located in Lintong District of Xi’an, Shaanxi Province. It is the place where the famous Xuanwu Gate Incident took place and where Li Jiancheng and Li Yuanji, the eldest and the second eldest sons of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, were killed. Now it is a historical relic under national protection.

Yongxing Lane

The location of Yongxing Lane used to be the former residence of Wei Zheng, a statesman and historian of the Tang Dynasty. In 2007, in order to further enrich the historical features of Shuncheng Lane, buildings, decorated archways, meadows, inner streets, well houses, among others, in the style of traditional architecture were added on the site.

Shuyuan Gate (Academy Gate)

Shuyuan Gate is located inside the Xi’an City Wall near Yongning Gate. The streets are lined with buildings in the style of ancient Chinese architecture, and the ground is paved with bluestone. Most stores at Shuyuan Gate sell Chinese painting and calligraphy works, ancient books, writing brushes and, inkstones.

Lishan Mountain National Forest Park

Lishan Mountain is situated in the south of Lintong District, Xi’an. It is a branch range of Qinling Mountains with winding outlines and lush trees covered all over. It is also named with the character of Xiu, which means as beautiful and elegant as embroidery, for its scenery.

Qujiang Pond Ruins Park

Qujiang Pond Ruins Park is a fenceless cultural park integrating historical and cultural protection, ecological gardens, landscapes, leisure and tourism. With the pond in the middle, the park can be divided into eight scenic areas. It is a super large waterscape park that you can hardly find in Northwest China.

Cuihua Mountain National Geo-Park

Cuihua Mountain National Geo-Park is known as the “museum of natural landslides” for its cliffs and peaks, huge rocks and mysterious caves as well as dammed lakes.

Xidian University

Xidian University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. The school is one of the key construction universities of the "211 Project" approved by the state. After more than 80 years of development, Xidian has formed distinctive features in the fields of information science and electronic technology.

Marinated Meat in Baked Bun

Marinated meat in baked bun is a traditional specialty in China. It is also nicknamed as “Chinese hamburger”.

Cold Rice Noodles

Cold rice noodles is a traditional dish in the northwest of China. It is long strips made from flour or rice flour, mixed with different portions of salt, vinegar, sesame sauce, chili oil, gluten, shredded cucumber, bean sprouts, garlic juice and seasonal vegetables.

Zeng Cake

Zeng cake is a traditional snack in Xi’an. To make it, sticky rice, red dates or honey dates are steamed on the iron zeng (an iron cooker), sometimes with red beans and raisins.

Tang Paradise

Tang Paradise (Datang Furong Garden), is built to the north of the ruins of an earlier Furong Garden in the Tang Dynasty. It is the first large-scale theme park in the style of royal gardens that fully displays the magnificence of the prosperous Tang Dynasty.

Datang Everbright City

With the flourishing Tang culture as the background and Tang style as the core element, four squares – Dayan Pagoda North Square, Xuanzang Square, Zhenguan Square and Chuangling Xinshidai Square – were built to constitute Datang Everbright City. It is the most recommended place for tourists to experience the culture of Tang Dynasty in Xi’an.
