The City with the Largest Number of College Students in China

Wuhan is the capital city of Hubei Province. It is the largest city in central China, and the center of politics, economy, finance, commerce, logistics, science and technology, culture and education and the hub of transportation and communication in the region.


From the middle and late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, Hankou, with its developed economy, was the second largest international metropolis in China after Shanghai. It was one of the most prosperous Asian cities, and was referred to as the Oriental Chicago by the United States at that time.

As of 2021, the number of college students in Wuhan has exceeded one million, ranking first among all cities in the world. Yellow Crane Tower

Situated on the Sheshan Mountain of Wuchang District, Wuhan, the Yellow Crane Tower is one of the four most famous buildings in Jiangnan. With five floors in total, the tower is 50.4 meters high with a history of more than 1,790 years.

Guiyuan Buddhist Temple

Built in 1658, Guiyuan Buddhist Temple has over 200 halls and rooms and more than 7,000 Buddhist scriptures. The temple is also known as “a unique place in the west of Hubei” due to its beautiful natural and cultural environment with towering ancient trees and thriving woods and flowers.

Qingchuan Pavilion

Qingchuan Pavilion was originally built during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty and underwent reconstruction in 1984. The scenic area is a famous cultural and tourist destination in Wuhan, which is composed of three main buildings, Qingchuan Pavilion, Yuji Palace, and Tiemen Pass, as well as other accompanying building complexes.
